Property Description
"Once in a lifetime!" This is what I think about when I announce that the amazing Bear Creek Ranch is available for purchase! First...the amazing history:
"Founded in 1994 by the late Roger Dixon, the Dixon Water Foundation promotes healthy watersheds and sequestration of carbon through regenerativeland management, to ensure that present and future generations of Texans have the water resources they need.
We own and operate several working cattle ranches... Mimms Unit and the Alamito Creek Preserve in West Texas and Leo, Pittman and Bear Creek Units in North Texas. These ranches demonstrate environmentally and economically sound ways to manage rangeland.
We partner with local researchers to monitor how the environment responds to our stewardship. Our ranches also host educational programs, serving as outdoor classrooms for landowners, students, and others interested in sustainable ranch and natural resource management.
In addition to our ranches, we fund annual grants to programs that support our mission in key Texas ecosystems. The foundation has been honored with the 2017 Leopold Conservation Award, a Lone Star Land Steward Award and a Texas Environmental Excellence Award for Agriculture"
AND the land:
When you drive into the Bear Creek Ranch your breath is taken away with the beauty. This ranch has the most amazing native grasses and wide variety of vegetation, it is thick and lush and the creek and draws with the running water are so exquisitely beautiful! You drive the ranch road to the tops of the hills and you can see for miles, all the way to the Fort Worth skyline. This is an area of big ranch country...the Moncriefs, the Bass Family, the Beggs and Walsh...there is well over 100,000 acres of big country in this area. And adjacent to all this big country is encroaching development. The proximity to Fort Worth is 15 minutes. This ranch could easily become another development of rooftops at the edge of Fort Worth. My dream is that an end user will purchase this ranch. Someone that understands and appreciates what The Dixon Water Foundation did here and carries forth with it. But my job is to sell the ranch, bottom line is to find a qualified buyer. The ranch is being grazed and there is an education pavilion on a hilltop and barns, pens, water wells, and plenty of road frontage. A small 95 acre parcel has been sold to someone for a home site. Bear Creek is flowing, and lazy and beautiful as it runs across the ranch. To stand on the banks and watch the bass swim in the clear waters is sheer heaven. The draws carry seasonal water and the lakes dot the country. And quail run in and out the roads. Yes, quail...what a treat! While taking photos I spotted a majestic buck standing upon the hilltop silhouetted with the sky behind him...I felt sure he was also contemplating the future of this peaceful ranch. The ranch can be sold in 100+ acre parcels. Will consider selling the ranch in toto at an acceptable negotiated price. Shown by appointment only, broker must be present.
