Strategically located in the funnel of the Central Flyway and only 20-miles from the coast. Duck, geese and sandhill cranes are prolific! For the saltwater angler; Palacios is only 20-miles from the gate and boasts excellent bay fishing.
One could easily improve the waterfowl hunting even more by creating additional wetlands.
Topography, Rangeland and Habitat: Over 70% of the ranches soil composition is Texana fine sandy loam which is conducive to intense grazing and moderate farming practices. The topography is generally flat with open rangeland. There is a fair amount of Mcartney hedge spread throughout. Historically, this area receives 45-inches of rainfall annually.
