Brad Swinney, MAI, AI-GRS, VP of Collateral Risk Management, Farm Credit Bank of Texas Brad Swinney has been vice president of collateral risk management for the Farm Credit Bank of Texas since April 2015. In this position he is responsible for the bank’s collateral risk management including appraisal standards and collateral risk assessment systems. He served in a similar capacity with Farm Credit Mid-America as the assistant chief appraiser/collateral risk specialist prior to joining the bank. Brad has been appraising farm, commercial, industrial, multifamily and rural residential real estate since 1992 and began his Farm Credit System career in November 1997. He holds the general appraisal and appraisal review designations from the Appraisal Institute (MAI and AI-GRS), and is also an active member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Brad currently serves as a member of the Appraisers Qualification Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation (TAF). He is the 2021 president for the Austin Chapter of the Appraisal Institute as well as a regional representative. He also serves as a candidate advisor and sits on the experience review panel for those seeking MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. He was president of the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) in 2005 and is currently a member of the Texas and Kentucky (Bluegrass) ASFMRA Chapters.
