 nerals Class\, taught by Dr. Charles Porter\, immediately following the re
 gular meeting/luncheon.  Details to follow!!\n\nWe are very fortunate to 
 have 2 great research eonomists with us!  Dr. Charles Gilliland and Dr. L
 ynn Krebs\, both Research Economists with Texas Real Estate Research Cente
 r | Texas A&amp\;M University who will fill us in on the latest data regar
 ding Texas land markets.\n\nDr. Charles Gilliland\, a native of Colorado\,
  grew up on a cattle ranch and graduated from Regis College in Denver\, Co
 lorado with an A.B. degree.  After a stint as office manager and assistan
 t assessor of the Hidalgo and  Cameron Counties Water Control and Improve
 ment District Number 9\, an  80\,000 acre irrigation district in the Lowe
 r Rio Grande Valley\, Dr. Gilliland earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Tex
 as A&amp\;M University. During that  time Dr. Gilliland served as chief d
 eputy appraiser with A&amp\;M Consolidated  Independent School District i
 n College Station. Dr. Gilliland currently holds an appointment as a Resea
 rch Economist with the Real Estate Center in the Mays School and an appoin
 tment as Adjunct Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&
 amp\;M University. Dr. Gilliland also formerly served as Helen and O.N. Mi
 tchell Fellow of Real Estate and   clinical Professor of Finance teachin
 g real estate investment analysis in the Master of Real Estate program in 
 the Mays School at Texas A&amp\;M University. In 2009\, the American Socie
 ty of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers bestowed its Golden Quill Award o
 n Dr. Gilliland. In 2010 The Farm Credit Bank of Texas inducted Dr. Gillil
 and into the Academy of Honor for significant contributions to agriculture
 . Dr. Gilliland has served as President of the Bryan Texas Rotary Club whe
 re he is a Paul Harris Fellow. More recently\, the International Associati
 on of Business Communicators awarded him their Bronze Quill Award for writ
 ing.\n\nAt the Center\, Dr. Gilliland concentrates on research of appraisa
 l issues\, development issues\, property rights\, rural land markets\, pro
 perty taxation\, water marketing\, and associated issues. Dr. Gilliland ha
 s contributed expert testimony before the United States Senate\, Texas Sen
 ate\, and Texas House of Representatives. He has an extensive publication 
 record\, including a book entitled Buying Rural Land In Texas published by
  the Texas A&amp\;M University Press. Dr. Gilliland has also provided cons

 n\nDr. Lynn Krebs joined the Texas Real Estate Research Center staff in 20
 22 with an extensive background in commercial real estate and property tax
  consulting. He began his career at the Center as a graduate assistant in 
 1992\, where he assisted Dr. Charles Gilliland in rural land markets and p
 roperty tax research and reporting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in a
 gricultural economics and Master’s in land economics and real estate\, b
 oth from Texas A&amp\;M University in College Station. Lynn also earned a 
 Ph.D. from Georgia State University while working for the Institute of Pro
 fessionals in Taxation in Atlanta from 1994 to 2003. From there\, Lynn ret
 urned to the great state of Texas to join Collegiate Development as Senior
  Vice President in Dallas. Subsequently\, Lynn worked in property tax cons
 ulting from 2007 to 2022. He most recently served as CEO of Tax Advisors G
 roup where he led the firm for eight years through tremendous growth from 
 its original founder through two rounds of successful private equity inves
