Dr. Luke Etheredge will be speaking on Range Ecology.  Luke grew up on a 3800 acre working cattle ranch in central Texas and graduated from Llano High School in 1996.  He then went to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, where he joined the Corps of Cadets.  While in the Corps he was a member of Fish Drill Team and The Ross Volunteers.  Luke graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy in 2000 and then again with a Master of Science degree in agronomy in 2003.  Luke and his wife, Tara, then moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where he attend Louisiana State University and then graduated with a Ph.D in agronomy with emphasis in weed science and a minor in agricultural economics in 2007.  Following graduation, Luke accepted a job with Helena Chemical Company as business manager for SugarTech, a subsidiary company of Helena that specialized in growing and producing certified, disease-free sugarcane seed.  In 2008, Luke changed jobs and moved back to Texas, where he became a Technical Development Representative for Monsanto in the Industrial, Turf, and Ornamental division.  He has been with Monsanto for 8.5 years serving in some capacity in the Technology Development and Agronomy organization conducting pre-commercial field applied research and technical sales support.  Luke, his wife Tara, Luke Moss (6 years old), and Grace (3 years old) currently live in Llano, TX, where he is now the Weed Management Technical Development Representative for Monsanto in the Crop Protection Division and territorial responsible for the Eastern half of TX and Southeastern OK, specializing in Weed Resistance identification and management and evaluating the Roundup Ready® Xtend (Dicamba) Cropping System.
